Fagan Park in Galston is a magnificent 55-hectare estate that offers a fantastic day-out destination. The designated off-leash areas are the huge, unfenced grassy fields and rolling hills, providing an incredible amount of space for energetic dogs with reliable recall to have an exhilarating run in a beautiful country setting.

Key Park Features & Amenities

This park is brilliantly set up for a full day of adventure, combining off-leash freedom with on-leash exploration. A major advantage is the large on-site car park, though it’s important to note that a parking fee per vehicle applies. The park is equipped with excellent facilities, including public toilets, picnic tables, and BBQs.

For the Dogs:

  • Huge Unfenced Fields: Vast, open fields and rolling hills provide an incredible amount of space to run.
  • On-Leash Garden Exploration: After a run, dogs must be on-leash to explore the famous Gardens of Many Nations.
  • Bring Your Own Water: You must bring your own water and a bowl, as there are no dedicated fountains on the fields.
  • Bring Your Own Bags: You’ll also need to bring your own poo bags to help keep these stunning grounds pristine.

For the Humans:

  • Paid On-Site Parking: A large car park is accessible from Arcadia Road; a parking fee applies.
  • Excellent Facilities: The park is equipped with public toilets, picnic tables, and BBQs for a full day out.
  • Daytime Destination: This is a park to be enjoyed during its opening hours in the daylight.

Insider Tip: Make a Day of It

Pack a picnic to enjoy at one of the many scenic spots, and after your dog has had their run in the main fields, take them for a long, leisurely on-leash walk through the different garden ecosystems. It’s a wonderfully varied experience that makes the parking fee completely worthwhile.
