Please be aware: The Mercantile Hotel will be closing for a major, year-long renovation. The venue will be closed to the public from Monday, October 28, 2024, and is expected to reopen after Sunday, October 26, 2025.

You can definitely bring your dog along for a pint at The Merc, Australia’s oldest Irish pub. Pups are welcome to join you on-leash in all the outdoor seating areas, putting you right in the historic heart of The Rocks and making it a brilliant spot to sit and watch the world go by.

This place is the real deal, famous for pouring a perfect pint of Guinness and having fantastic live music that gives the whole pub a buzzing, infectious energy. The crew here is known for their warm Irish hospitality, and that welcome absolutely extends to dogs.
