Inner West Dog Beaches & Waterfronts in Sydney: Where Your Dog Can Splash and Play

For those of us in the bustling Inner West, the dream of a sandy, off-leash adventure at one of the local inner west dog beaches doesn’t require a long car trip. While the region doesn’t have traditional surf beaches, it offers something equally wonderful: a fantastic collection of vibrant, grassy waterfront parks where city dogs can run, socialise, and have a proper splash.

The key here is to think “water access” rather than “beach”. This region is just one of the amazing areas we cover in our Ultimate Guide to Sydney’s Dog-Friendly Beaches.

Kyeemagh Dog Beach (Lady Robinsons Beach): The Airport Adjacent Gem

Located on Botany Bay adjacent to Sydney Airport, Kyeemagh is the most “traditional” beach on this list and a huge win for Inner West residents. The vibe is relaxed, with the added novelty of being one of the best spots in Sydney to watch planes take off and land.

Glebe Foreshore (Blackwattle Bay Park & Bicentennial Park): The Iconic View

This isn’t a single park but a wonderful network of connected green spaces that wrap around the Glebe foreshore, offering spectacular, uninterrupted views of the Anzac Bridge. It’s a very popular spot for local dog owners with a great community feel.

Blackwattle Bay Park is 24/7 off-leash, and a section of Bicentennial Park to the west has a narrow, sandy stretch where dogs are welcome to swim.
