Kutti Beach: The Dog Friendly Hidden Gem

Tucked away near Watsons Bay, this secluded spot feels like a private European cove. Access is via a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it staircase, leading down to a perfect crescent of sand with calm, clear water. It’s a true paradise for a quiet and peaceful paddle.

Rules Alert: Officially, Kutti Beach is an on-leash area, however, it has a long-standing reputation as a quiet spot for well-behaved local dogs to have a discreet swim.

  • ⚖️ The Rule? Officially ON-LEASH at all times. However, there’s a strong local culture of well-behaved dogs swimming off-leash discreetly.
  • 📍 Finding It: The entrance is a narrow wooden staircase next to the Vaucluse Amateur Sailing Club at 12 Wharf Road, Vaucluse. It’s easy to miss!
  • 🚽 Amenities? Absolutely none. No toilets, no bins, no water taps. You must be completely self-sufficient.
  • ⚠️ Best For: A calm, quiet paddle with a well-behaved dog who has perfect recall. Not for a boisterous game of fetch.
