Beach Features & Amenities

For the Dogs

  • Massive Space: It really is “Seven Mile” beach. There is endless room for running, digging, and chasing balls without getting in anyone’s way.
  • Swimming: Direct ocean access is great for dogs who love a swim, but be careful of the surf conditions as it can get rough.
  • No Boundaries: There are no fences here. You need to be sure your dog will come back when called so they don’t bother other beachgoers.

For the Humans

  • The Views: It’s a stunning spot with views all the way up the coast towards Byron Bay.
  • Amenities: There are bins near the access points and showers near the Surf Club to rinse off the sand.
  • Access: Walking on soft sand can be hard work, so it might be difficult for anyone with mobility issues.

Insider Tip: In summer, the main car park near the Surf Club gets absolutely packed. If you have a suitable vehicle, try the Camp Drewe Road northern access point instead. It’s usually much quieter and drops you straight onto the dog-friendly section.

The Final Verdict

If your dog loves the beach, this is the place to be. It’s huge, open, and available 24/7. Just remember to stay north of the Surf Club signs and make sure your dog listens to you, as there are no fences to stop them running off.
