- Your Standard Beach Permit WON’T Work: This is the most important rule! Your regular Northern Beaches beach parking permit is NOT valid for all-day parking here. You will get a ticket.
- Pay and Display: For most visitors, this is the go-to option. You can pay by the hour or for the day at the on-site machines or using the Park’nPay app.
- Get a Rowland Reserve Permit: If you’re a regular, the council sells a specific, separate annual permit just for this reserve. It’s the best value if you plan on visiting often.
- The Free 1-Hour Loophole: There are a few spots designated as free for one hour, but only if your car displays a standard Northern Beaches Beach Permit. These are rare as hen’s teeth on a weekend, so don’t count on them!

Pittwater is an estuarine environment, which means water quality can be affected by stormwater runoff. The calm, sandy floor is a perfect spot for stingrays to hang out. They aren’t aggressive, but will defend themselves if stepped on.
